Victory for the Light Side!

For all those who wish to know, let it be said that the people have spoken.

In Tuesday's CT Democratic Primary, Sen. Joseph Lieberman was defeated approximately 52% to 48% by challenger Ned Lamont. Immediately following his concession speech (or was it during? I couldn't watch it for various reasons), Lieberman announced his intention to run as an independent candidate in the November general election.

Well. It seems that we still have more work to do. For months, the blogosphere and netroots community have been working to bring change, to get the voices of Connecticut heard. We have. And yet, it seems as if the man who should listen closest, the one whom we've told, "enough is enough," is not listening at all.

The time has truly come to act.

Start today. Send letters. We need to get Harry Reid to start stripping Lieberman of all party responsibility. It doesn't matter what his registration is, Joe is now running independent, as in not Democrat. This means he doesn't get any party support. It should also mean that he doesn't keep any benefits of party membership. Committee memberships? Pull him. Positions of responsibility in the party? Give them to someone else. Perhaps someone a bit more, ah, Democratic, mayhaps?

The fight is far from over. We have won the battle, but the war is far, far, far from over.

No giving up. No surrender. We have to win this in November.

Take back the House.

Take back the Senate.

TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.

Until later, I bid you good day, and happy geekings.

-Teh Josh
